Muskogee allowing medical marijuana events in some public places

TULSA, Okla. — Muskogee City Council passed an ordinance, 5-4, this week allowing people to smoke medical marijuana at cannabis-related events on select city properties.

The Muskogee properties include The Muskogee Civic Center, Hatbox Field and the Honor Heights amphitheater and Papilion.

The medical marijuana can only be smoked or vaped in tents on city--owned property and organizers must show it’s for educational purposes. The ordinance also states the city must determine it to be a “medical marijuana event”, the events must have 50 or more people in attendance and the events must be 70% educational about cannabis use. This does NOT allow people to smoke medical marijuana inside city--owned buildings.
