Man killed, Tulsa auto shop damaged in shooting

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department is working to solve the city’s 57th homicide of the year.

Detectives say the shooting happened in a shopping center near Admiral and 111th East Avenue early Saturday morning.

Leonard Dewayne Walker, 20, had been shot in the back and taken to the hospital where he later died.

Witnesses who were at the shopping center say they heard several shots fired.

No one else was hurt, but several pieces of property were hit, including a nearby automotive shop.

They say their building was hit at least a dozen times, some of the bullets making their way inside the shop.

No one was inside at the time of the shooting.
