TULSA, Okla. — Police are investigating a shooting in an east Tulsa neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
Tulsa police say a man was shot outside The Meadows Apartments near 31st and Garnett around 12 p.m.
Police found the man who was shot and another person at a nearby church parking lot where he drove to get help.
The victims told police that they were jumped at outside The Meadows, and a group of people dragged one of them out of their car.
The man got back in the car and drove off as the group fired shots at them, hitting the driver once in the shoulder, police say.
The driver found police officers parked in the lot of a nearby church so they stopped to get help.
“We want to add this is a developing story with possible new information coming in as police further investigate,” police said in a statement.
“These are just initial reports from the victims.”
Paramedics arrived to help the driver who police say they expect to be OK.
Police are still looking for the group involved in the shooting.
