Man dies after altercation with law enforcement at Osage County casino

OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — Officials said that a man died after an altercation with law enforcement at an Osage County casino Friday night.

Osage County deputies received a call from security at the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino on 36th Street North in Tulsa that said a man who was banned from the casino needed to be removed from the property.

When deputies arrived, the suspect fled in a truck and the deputy pursued for a couple of miles before canceling the pursuit and returning to the casino.

While deputies spoke with casino security, the suspect returned to the casino and fled from deputies on foot. They followed him to a nearby wooded area where he began to fight. During the altercation the suspect was Tasered. He then detained and placed in handcuffs when he collapsed.

A deputy began to administer CPR while waiting on medical professionals to arrive. The suspect was transported to the OSU Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the cause of his death.
