Man dead after fire destroys abandoned house in Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — A man has died after a fire destroyed an abandoned home near 21st Street and Riverside early Thursday.

Firefighters responded to the two-story apartment building and saw heavy fire engulfing the building around 4:30 a.m.

“There was heavy damage to the second story it’s really hard to tell right now,” said Andy Little with the Tulsa Fire Department.

“It’s not unheard of that someone could be coming in seeking shelter from the cold weather. We hope to have more answers. time will tell.”

Firefighters tell FOX23 News that a man died in the fire. No other injuries reported.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
