Man in critical condition after shooting in Okmulgee

OKMULGEE, Okla. — Two men have been arrested and booked into Okmulgee County Jail after shooting a man, leaving him in critical condition, police said.

Darren Powdrill and Daniel Grizzle have been arrested by Okmulgee police after reportedly shooting a local man near the 1100 block of West 2nd Street around 3 p.m.

Police say when they responded to the scene they located a victim who was able to describe the suspect who shot him by his street name. Officers recognized the name and were able to arrest Darren Powdrill, 49, of Okmulgee.

Witnesses on scene reportedly told police of another person’s street name, later identified as Daniel Grizzle, who was possibly involved in the shooting.

Officers later went to Grizzle’s home and arrested him after he took off in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

Police say they went back to the home where they found a gun that could have been used in the shooting shooting.

Powdrill and Grizzle are now booked into Okmulgee County Jail and under an active investigation by police.
