TULSA, Okla. — Linde Oktoberfest Tulsa is canceled in 2020 for the first time in its history, organizers announced Friday.

The festival’s board of trustees decided the event scheduled to begin Oct. 21 should be canceled due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19.

The festival usually welcomes about 60,000 people for the five-day event at River West Festival Park.

“It’s an extremely difficult time for large events across the country,” said Festival Director Tonja Carrigg.

Organizers expect to be back for the festival in 2021.
