BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — In the Broken Arrow Rose District, a lot of shoppers are hitting small businesses across Green Country for some last minute errands before Christmas.
Store owners told FOX23 that they’ve been busy all holiday season — but especially Thursday. Business owners also said they’ve seen more men than women grabbing last minute gifts.
Melvin Piper from Nouveau Chocolate Store said that he’s seen more and more people shop local for Christmas gifts this year.
“Especially last year when [COVID-19] started, all the craziness ... this year is really busy, so I’ve seen an uptake for sure,” Piper explained.
Additionally, stocking has been a major issue for local business owners.
Lynn Palmer, the owner of Simplicity Gift Store told FOX23 that some last minute shoppers might be disappointed.
“This year [shoppers] may get caught a little bit because things have sold out so quickly,” Palmer explained. “We’re still struggling even getting things in. We’re lucky we produce a lot of items [in house] so we’re actually able to control some inventory on some items.”
