Greenwood Rising opens its doors 100 years after Tulsa Race Massacre

TULSA, Okla. — Greenwood Rising is now open.

The center, which is dedicated to telling the history of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, stands at the corner of Greenwood and Archer.

Phil Armstrong with the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission helped with the project. He says, he’s happy to see it all come together.

Admission will be free for the first year, but you must reserve a ticket to visit. Armstrong says reservations through August and September are already filling up. Schools are also signing up for the tour.
