OWASSO, Okla. — Neighbors around Green Country are getting creative in finding ways to keep their spirits up while still social distancing.

Amy Luikey says she read about people in Claremore going on neighborhood “bear hunts”, and decided to see what she and her daughter, Sophia could find around Claremore and Verdigris

Luikey says they spotted 75 bears, but she’s heard of some families spotting as many as 200

She says it’s a very stressful time so changing their scenery by getting out of the house -- even if it was just to get into the car and drive around and find bears -- really helped lift their spirits.

In Owasso, Mendy Stewart organized a drive-through zoo in the Fairways at Bailey Ranch neighborhood

Wednesday, Stewart says neighbors put out more than 115 zoo animals

Stewart says it was great to see people getting creative, and it was great to see families walking from block to block to check out the displays and visiting with neighbors while maintaining six feet of distance.
