OSAGE COUNTY, Okla. — Friends, family members, and strangers are honoring the legacy of Captain William Hargraves.
Hargraves was killed Friday morning following a car crash on US-60. Hargraves was on his way to the Osage County Sheriff’s Office, where he had worked for more than 20 years.
On Monday, 13-year-old Zechariah Cartledge will run one mile with a flag, honoring Capt. Hargraves. Cartledge, who lives in Florida, runs to honor the lives of fallen officers around the country.
He has previously ran in honor a Stilwell police officer.
A GoFundMe has been created to support Hargraves’ family following his death.
A processional took place Sunday, and his funeral is scheduled for Friday afternoon at Hutchinson Memorial in Ponca City.
