Fort Gibson hires Muskogee County sheriff as new police chief

FORT GIBSON, Okla. — Muskogee County Sheriff Rob Frazier is switching jobs and will soon be chief at the Fort Gibson Police Department.

Fort Gibson City Council voted Monday night to approve the hire. They interviewed five candidates for the job.

The decision comes weeks after former police chief Donnie Yarbrough resigned on Dec. amid a tort claim.

Frazier called the job a dream come true and hopes to retire in Fort Gibson in the future. He starts his new job on Feb. 1.
