Fort Gibson family seriously injured in wrong-way crash on I-40

FORT GIBSON, Okla. — Members of a Fort Gibson family are fighting for their lives after a wrong-way driver slammed into them on I-40 on Sunday.

Several members of the Impson family are in the hospital on Tuesday after the crash, including two children.

The family drove westbound on I-40 on Sunday, headed for a soccer match in Oklahoma City when another driver hit them while going eastbound in the wrong lanes.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the family was trapped in their car for 45 minutes before being freed and flown to OU Medical Center in OKC.

Klint and Katheryn Impson were seriously injured, along with their 7-year-old son.

Their daughter is expected to be OK.
