Fallen Tulsa Sgt. Craig Johnson honored during vigil in Washington

A fallen Tulsa police officer was honored Thursday night at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington.

Sgt. Craig Johnson was shot while responding to a traffic stop on Jun. 29, 2020. He died the next day. Officer Aurash Zarkeshan was also shot during the attack. He survived.

Johnson’s name was one of 700 that were read aloud during the candlelight vigil.

Johnson’s family attended the ceremony, along with officer Zarkeshan, Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin and the Tulsa Police Honor Guard.
