Double amputee plays football for Beggs

Quick Facts:

  • Joe Martel III had both legs amputated before he was 2 years old
  • As a freshman at Beggs High School, he plays football while wearing prosthetics
  • Martel is on the JV team but has made plays for the varsity team
  • Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association believes he's the double leg amputee to play high school football in the state

Before he was two years old, Joe Martel III had both legs amputated.

Now a freshman at Beggs High School, being a double amputee has not stopped him from doing what he loves. Using his prosthetic legs, Martel plays football for the junior varsity team. He has not stopped there, however.
