Collinsville family asking for help finding people accused of vandalizing late grandmother’s home

Collinsville, Okla. — A family is hoping to find answers after they discovered vandals destroyed their grandmother’s home.

Samantha Hall Slater says they first got the call from the Collinsville Police Department Wednesday afternoon.

A neighbor called police after hearing the sound of breaking glass. Slater says it they were in complete shock when they stepped into the home. The floors were covered with glass, dents and graffiti covered walls, she says not one room or item was left untouched.

Slater says the home was her grandmother’s who passed away a few years ago. She said her mom also lived in the house until she passed away in April after a battle with breast cancer. She said the home had many fond memories and her grandmother was always proud of the house. Slater said it was heartbreaking to see the home in its shape.

The police department says they have some possible suspects they are currently looking at, possibly juveniles, but ask neighbors to help if anyone witnessed or caught video on surveillance cameras nearby the location at 18th and Oak Street.
