Class ring returned to daughter years after mother passes away

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. —  A Tahlequah woman was given a 1933 class ring from Clinton High School in Tulsa. A friend of hers found it will looking though old cars at a salvage yard.

Hoping she could reunite the ring with the owner’s family, she reached out to the staff at Clinton West Elementary staff.

They were able to find Fern Whittman’s picture in an old yearbook, and her daughter who lives in Owasso.

Fern’s daughter, Diana, had no idea her mom had lost the ring before she passed. Now she plans to put the ring in a display case to pass down to her own grandkids.
