Carnegie Elementary extends suspension of in-person learning

TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE: Carnegie Elementary will be closed tomorrow on Friday, August 27.

Drive-through meal services will still be provided for families. That will be available from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Plans for Monday, August 30 will be shared by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Administrators are working on at-home learning packets and Chromebook assignments in the event that in-person learning is again suspended.

Administrators at Carnegie Elementary School in Tulsa have suspended in-person learning for students on August 26, less than 30 minutes before the school day was scheduled to begin.

In a Facebook post, administrators say they are forced to suspend lessons due to staff absences.

If the school is forced to extend the suspension, families will have a chance to pick up a Chromebook for students to continue schoolwork at home.

Parents can still pick up free breakfast and lunch today at the Ross Child Nutrition building on Latimer Street.
