Broken Arrow group helps veterans fight depression with motorcycles

Group restoring motorcycles to help veterans overcome depression

A local veteran’s group is working on “Operation Freedom Therapy” to help fellow veterans in need

The American Legion Riders Mohawk Post in Broken Arrow is fixing up an old motorcycle to donate to a veteran.

The members share a passion for motorcycles and riding together. They believe owning a motorcycle can provide peace and healing for veterans. They hope to gift it to someone who also has a passion for riding, but no longer has the means to do so.

They want to share a motorcycle with one local hero at a time, and in turn, help combat depression and suicide in veterans.

The legion donated a bike to the cause, but it needs a lot of work. They are asking the community to support this cause monetarily, with part donations, or even donating their time or labor.-They hope this project will be the first bike of many that they can share with deserving veterans.
