Plane crashes at Bartlesville airport

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a plane crash in Bartlesville.

A small plane crashed Wednesday morning at the Bartlesville Municipal Airport.

Crews responded to the crash around 9:30 a.m. They learned an experimental aircraft crashed on the west side of the airport.

Officials said the pilot lost control of the plane after takeoff and couldn't make it back to the runway in time. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the pilot reported an engine problem.

Multiple emergency units responded to the scene.

Authorities are investigating a plane crash at the airport in Bartlesville. I'm working to get more details and I'll have a live report on FOX23 News at Noon.

The pilot was the only person in the plane. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Bartlesville police are at the scene while the FAA investigates the crash.
