Missing Oklahoma inmate back in custody

MCALESTER, Okla. — An inmate housed at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester escaped from the minimum-security facility Friday, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections announced.

ODOC staff discovered 20-year-old Michael Craig, Jr. missing during the 9 p.m. inmate count, ODOC said in a press release.

Craig is serving time for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and robbery or attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. Both charges are out of Oklahoma County.

Authorities took Craig, Jr. into custody around 7 a.m. in Arpelar, a small town several miles west of McAlester, ODOC said Saturday morning.
