Air quality health advisory issued this weekend

TULSA, Okla. — An air quality health advisory has been issued for several counties in northeast Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality advises those with respiratory issues should limit prolonged outdoor activities.

According to the NOAA Environmental Visualization Laboratory, "a massive plum of Saharan dust" appeared on satellite imagery crossing the Atlantic Ocean this week.

Many of the Gulf Coast states have reported signs of the dust.
