TULSA, Okla. — The 2021 Chili Bowl Nationals kicked off in Tulsa on Monday.
The annual racing event at the Expo Center, like most events in the last nine months, will look significantly different due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It will only allow 25 percent capacity, masks are required and temperatures are taken at the door.
A storyline to follow during the Chili Bowl is that of Brett Wilson in the No. 2 car.
Wilson is in the No. 2 in honor of his friend Mickey Walker who recently died unexpectedly at 23 years old.
Wilson says Walker was known for being fierce on the track, but he had a softer side off of it.
J.C. helped design the decals on the car. He says, “we just want to take Mickey around the track one more time.”
