Stolen ice cream sign seen in ‘The Outsiders’ movie returned to business

SPERRY, Okla. — UPDATE 03/01/2021:

The owners says thieves brought back the Swift’s ice cream sign about a week after FOX23 reported it stolen but it was broken.

WHERE: Downtown Sperry

Coulson says thieves also stole two Coke dispenser heads, and brought them back. One is broke. Coulson says the Swift’s sign is extremely fragile, and he will probably have to get a reproduction of the sign made. He says the sign was lit up at the Rexall drug store in downtown Sperry for almost 30 years. Coulson has been spending a lot of his time investing in downtown Sperry.

He plans to build a new venue with an ice cream and soda bar. He also plans on fixing up the DX gas station in the middle of town to be a tourist attraction from The Outsiders movie. Coulson believes the thieves live in town, are male, and knew what they were after.
