    Quick Facts:

    • Located in Catoosa along Route 66
    • Building took two year, 1970-1972
    • The idea started as a fish and grew into a whale
    • In July of 1972, the unpainted whale began attracting people to jump on the tail and swim
    • In 1988 the whale was closed with the builder passing just two years later
    • Catoosa Chamber of Commerce refurbished the landmark in 1997
    • Governor Frank Keating painted the pupil of the Blue Whale's eye

    Materials used:

    • 126 sacks of dry concrete
    • 19.5 yards of ready-mix concrete
    • 19,4000 pounds of rock
    • 15 tons of sand
