Funeral for mass shooting victim, William Love, held in Jenks

JENKS, Okla. — A funeral for a man killed in the Saint Francis mass shooting is being held in Jenks.

The funeral for William Love began Friday afternoon at NewSpring Family Church. Love was one of four victims shot and killed when an active shooter entered the Saint Francis Natalie Building on June 1. He was 73 years old.

Love was a retired Army First Sergeant with 27 years of service. He served one tour in Vietnam.

He was married to Deborah Love on Aug. 13, 1967. Love’s family said that at the time of the shooting, he heard the gunshots and knew his wife would not be able to escape the building on her own. He sacrificed his life for her.

Love loved traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his brother, James Love, daughters and their spouses, Karen Love and John Wood, Cheryl and Bobby Lowry, and eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
