Building evacuated due to fire at Riverchase Apartments

TULSA, Okla. — Quick Facts:

  • Dispatchers told FOX23 that firefighters responded to a fire at the Riverchase Apartments on Wednesday morning.
  • It's happened along Riverside and north of 81st Street.
  • Stan May with the Tulsa Fire Department said the fire started in the attic and they evacuated the building.
  • The building contains 16 units and the entire upstairs is destroyed, according to fire officials.
  • The Red Cross also responded.
  • EMSA reported one patient has been transported to the hospital and they expect two more.
  • Officials say that the three firefighters who went to the hospital for heat exhaustion have been released.
  • The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
