An east Tulsa church is recovering after a massive fire at their building early Wednesday morning.

About 60 Tulsa firefighters responded to massive flames at Memorial Drive Church of Christ near 8th and Memorial. Firefighters battled the fire until it was reduced to hotspots around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say the fire started somewhere in the center of the roof but did not determine the exact cause.

The church is now waiting for insurance to decide what to do with the building.

The church does not have access to power but organizers planned worship services for 9 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot outside the burned building.

There will be tents, portapotties, and snacks.

The church is asking people to bring their own drinks and chairs for the service.
