East Tulsa house fire displaces family

TULSA, Okla. — Quick facts:

  • Firefighters battled a blaze at an east Tulsa home Thursday night.
  • FOX23 found crews on the scene near 21st and Memorial around 10 p.m.

An east Tulsa family is having to find somewhere else to stay after a fire at their home.

The homeowners near 21st and Memorial said they were in their living room when they heard a popping sound and smelled smoke.

They found their garage fully engulfed.

The family worked to get their children out of the home. They found the fire heavily damaged their roof, garage and the side of the home.

No one was hurt.

The Red Cross is working to help the family. The family said they were renting the home and lost everything, including their car in the fire. They did not have renters insurance.

Neighbors lost power, but firefighters said they were able to quickly put out the fire.
