Deputies crack down on underage drinking in Tulsa County

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) kicked off their campaign, Too Much To Loose, to keep alcohol out of the hands of children.

“It’s a lot bigger than it used to be I can tell you that right now you know kids a lot of these children they look older,” said TCSO Sgt. Lamont Hill.

In operation Too Much To Loose, TCSO will send 18-to-20-year old volunteers into bars, restaurants and liquor stores to see if they’re selling to underage drinkers and not checking ID’s properly.

Sgt. Hill said one of their main focuses is teaching people and businesses what to look for.

“ID’s have changed twice since we last did this grant, we want to educate them on how to read the ID,” said Hill.

TCSO received a $10,000 grant from The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse to help educate people.
