• Deer fall from Creek Turnpike bridge onto Broken Arrow trail system

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - State officials are warning drivers and trail walkers in Broken Arrow after two deer fell from a Creek Turnpike bridge and died.

Game warden Carlos Gomez said the two deer were on the Creek Turnpike south of the Highway 169 ramp when they likely were startled and jumped from the bridge.

The deer fell about 30 feet and landed on a walking trail under the bridge. Gomez said the deer wouldn’t have realized they were on a bridge when they tried to jump out of the way.

Officials recommend that people call a game warden if they see a similar situation in another area.
