John 3:16 Mission recently started construction on it’s new “John 3:16 Mission Hardesty Renew Building,” located next to the group’s administration building in northwest Tulsa.
John 3:16 Mission recently started construction on it’s new “John 3:16 Mission Hardesty Renew Building,” located next to the group’s administration building in northwest Tulsa.
Deputy CEO Steven Whitaker tells FOX23 it’s a 30-bed, estimated $2.5 million facility that will primarily be used for the group’s year-long women’s recovery program.
As of right now, there are 12 beds in the current women’s wing, which is attached to the administration building. Once the construction is completed, women’s housing will be moved to the new facility. Men’s housing at the organization’s downtown location will move into the renovated wing The project will take six to nine months to complete.
The new facility will primarily be used for the group’s year-long recovery program, which helps women get on a path to success. The program focuses on trauma, substance abuse issues, spiritual growth, healthy living and job skills, among other things.
The project is all privately funded, with big contributor being ‘Hardesty Family Foundation,’ which the facility is named after.
This building will kick off a future network of other facilities John 3:16 has in the works for the community.
