TULSA, Okla. - A new coffee shop, book store, and bar all rolled into one is coming to Tulsa's Brady Heights neighborhood.

FOX23 Reporter Cailey Dougherty talked to Onikah Asamoa-Caesar on Thursday who owns Fulton Street Books & Coffee which is now in the works.

The building she is using near Latimer Street and Denver has been renovated and was empty for several years. It dates back to the late 1920s.

Asamoa-Caesar says she hopes the shop will help bring the community together and allow neighbors in the area to get to know each other.

Half of the building will make up the book store which has shelves made by a carpenter who lives in the neighborhood. There will be outdoor seating at the store.

Asamoa-Caesar says the store will have a wide variety of books representing diverse audiences. She says 70 percent of the books will be written by or feature people of color.

There will also be books written in different languages.

The other half of the building will be the coffee shop that will also feature a full bar.

Asamoa-Caesar says she hopes to open up shop by the end of the year.
