Do aliens like beer? Bud Light is counting on it.
A tweet from the Bud Light Twitter account Monday read that the company wants to stay out of the proposed, fictitious raid plan of Area 51 going around social media.
We’d like to be the first brand to formally announce that we will not be sponsoring the Area 51 raid.— Bud Light (@budlight) July 15, 2019
The brand's stand against the raid didn't last long.
Bud Light tweeted Wednesday afternoon that they are offering free Bud Light to any alien that escapes from Area 51.
Screw it. Free Bud Light to any alien that makes it out. https://t.co/AOWOYL3Oyp— Bud Light (@budlight) July 17, 2019
Later that day they shared a picture of a new, special edition "Bud Light Space Beer" can and a message of "We Come In Peace."

Across the top of the can reads a unique message saying:
“Greetings Earthlings. This is the famous Area 51. We know of no space beer by any other life form which is brewed and aged to be more refreshing. Our cryogenic aging produces a light bodied space lager with a fresh taste, a crisp, clean finish, and a smooth drinkability. Take us to your leader…for drinks”
A Twitter user responded to the new graphic of the Area 51-themed can asking if it was "real." Bud Light responded with "51,000 RTs and we'll make it happen." The brand's account also changed its avatar photo to an alien logo.
