CREEK COUNTY, Okla. — A woman died after a car she was riding in collided with a tractor trailer on the Turner Turnpike Wednesday night, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Betty Turner, 74, of Broken Arrow was a passenger in a car when the driver, Sarah Ready, 29, of Tulsa made an unsafe lane change into the inside lane, then attempted to make a U-turn into westbound traffic, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
That’s when a tractor trailer struck Ready’s vehicle on the Turner Turnpike near Depew in Creek County, troopers said.
Ready and Turner were both ejected from the vehicle and taken to the hospital, troopers said.
Turner later died from her injuries and Ready remains in critical condition, troopers said.
Troopers said a second passenger was also taken to the hospital but refused treatment.
