Tulsa police officers shoot one person after car chase
Tulsa police shot one person after a car chase that ended at the Metro Plex Apartments in east Tulsa early Sunday morning. The suspect went to the hospital.

A car chase ends with Tulsa police shooting one person.

That suspect, Earl Barton Jr., died on Sunday afternoon.

The chase ended in front of Metro Plex Apartments near South 137th East Ave and East 21st Street when officers used stop sticks to stop the truck.

Police said the driver then got out and ran then pulled out a knife, and TPD fired shots after using pepper balls and TASER.

The officer-involved shooting comes just a day after police shot and killed a man who came at them with a knife in north Tulsa.

Tulsa police officers said they tried to pull over truck around 1:40 a.m. Sunday near the 1100 of East 61st Street, but the suspect drove away.

Police said the car chase lasted for up to 25 minutes throughout Tulsa and Oklahoma Highway Patrol even got involved.

TPD told FOX23 at the scene that they used a taser and pepper balls before eventually shooting the suspect.
