TPD arrests suspected shooter in city's 10th homicide

TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE: Murder charges were re-filed against William Bridges in the death investigation of Christopher Coffelt on Dec. 13, 2018. Bridges is charged with first-degree murder and his attorney said he will be turning himself in.

Charges were dropped in October pending further investigation after new evidence was found in the case.

"On the eve of trial, the State of Oklahoma was made aware of additional reports that were never received by our office. Consequently, today murder charges were dismissed against William Bridges in the interest of justice pending further investigation. We are not in a position to continue prosecution of this case until additional investigation has been completed. We must insure that all prosecutions are based on both sides having all the information available. This case will be turned back over to the Tulsa Police Department Homicide Unit for further investigation and possible re-filing."
