NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Singer Kid Rock is not backing down after a profanity-laced tirade last week against Oprah Winfrey and other talk show hosts.
The 48-year-old singer, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, allegedly made disparaging comments against Winfrey, Joy Behar and Kathie Lee Gifford at his bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The comments were recorded by a patron at Kid Rock's Honky Tonk & Rock N' Roll Steakhouse, WZTV reported.
"My people tried to get me to do The Oprah Winfrey show years ago and her people wanted me to write down 5 reasons why I loved her and her show," Kid Rock tweeted. He added an emoji of an LGBTQ pride flag, before using an expletive and writing "end of story."
"I'm not a bad guy. I don't like Oprah Winfrey or Joy Behar," the singer, whose hits include "All Summer Long" and "Cowboy," said in one of the video's less profane moments, according to The Tennessean.
In a 2008 interview, Kid Rock called Winfrey his "real-life villain," The Tennessean reported.
"She rubs me up the wrong way. I just don't believe her. Maybe it's because I'm not one of the 150 million brainwashed women who heed her every word."
