Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - October 17 & 18

FOX23 is partnering with Mix 96.5 to benefit the American Cancer Society and its annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Oklahoma. This year’s walk is virtual and happening the weekend of October 17-18, 2020. Supporters can walk at their own pace, in their own neighborhood, and still make strides in the fight against breast cancer. The American Cancer Society is asking supporters to dress in their favorite pink outfits, snap selfies and videos, and share on their local Facebook page with the hashtag #MakingStridesTulsa throughout the weekend. Supporters are asked to register online at makingstrideswalk.org/tulsaok.

When you join the American Cancer Society, you’re providing help to someone who desperately needs it. Throughout the pandemic, the American Cancer Society has been there 24/7 for cancer patients and caregivers, listening to their concerns and providing accurate, scientific information about COVID-19 and cancer. Right now, more than $69 million are invested in breast cancer research grants. In 2019, the American Cancer Society provided more than 490,000 free rides to and from treatment, and more than 9,700 one-on-one support services for breast cancer patients.
