Laura Mock joined the FOX23 Severe Weather Team in July 2017 from WHSV in Harrisonburg, VA where she forecasted the weather for the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and parts of West Virginia.
Laura earned the designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society in 2016. She is also a member of the National Weather Association.
While in Virginia, she provided extended coverage of the historic Mid-Atlantic blizzard of January 2016 and numerous deadly floods. She was awarded Best Weathercast of the Year by the Virginias Associated Press for team coverage of the March 2015 snowstorm in Virginia.
She is no stranger to Oklahoma weather. Originally from Broken Arrow, Laura is thrilled to be back in Green Country and to forecast for the central plains again. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast Journalism. While at OU, she storm chased in her free time and interned at KOCO in Oklahoma City. She also spent three years forecasting for OU Nightly, a student run newscast.
In her free time, Laura enjoys being outdoors hiking and camping. She loves to travel across the country visiting National Parks.
