Brad Carl joined the FOX23 Severe Weather Team as the weekend evening meteorologist in September 2016, coming from Fayetteville, AR, where his forecast focused on western Arkansas and parts of eastern Oklahoma.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Brad has always been fascinated by science and weather. After interning at both KOMO and KCPQ in Seattle, he got his first on-air gig and the chance to sharpen his forecast skills in the mountainous terrain of Billings, Montana at KULR before taking a dive into Tornado Alley for the next three years in Northwest Arkansas.
No stranger to severe weather, while at 40/29 News, the ABC affiliate for the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas, Brad was the first from the region on the scene of the devastating EF-4 Vilonia/Mayflower tornado that struck central Arkansas in April 2014. Since then, he has covered numerous snow, ice, and severe weather events across Arkansas and is ready to take on the challenge of forecasting some of the world’s strongest storms that fire up across Oklahoma.
He is excited to call Tulsa and Green Country home. When not tracking storms, you can find Brad exploring around downtown, cheering on his University of Washington Huskies, hiking along the Arkansas River, or checking out new restaurants in town.
