This is a very rare fish that my husband, father and son caught on 4-3-11 on some jug lines we had set out the night before on the Verdigris River. We called several places to see about having it displayed but the only ones that responded that day was the Tulsa Zoo. They said it is called a Piebald catfish, a mix between a blue catfish and an albino. The guy at the zoo had only seen pictures and never seen one in real life because they get picked off by predators at a young age because of all the white on them. They are going to display it in a couple of months. It is rare enough that the Oklahoma Aquarium responded the next day and wanted it and since we had already given it to the Tulsa Zoo, they asked if we could keep fishing the Verdigris River and try to catch another for them to display. The Zoo was very excited to have him and we wanted him to be somewhere that people could view him and see what a beautiful fish he is.
