Greenville, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - East Carolina football players Terrell Stanley and Isaac Harris were involved in a serious automobile accident Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 264 Alternate.

Stanley was the driver in a single-vehicle accident and is listed in critical condition according to Vidant Medical Center. Harris, the passenger, was also transported to Vidant and released after precautionary evaluations were completed.

"Terrell is under the best medical care possible, and while he has showed signs of steadily improving, we ask that you keep him in your thoughts and prayers," said ECU head coach Ruffin McNeill. "His parents, sister and other family members are here with his teammates and coaches, and together we have been and will continue to be a force that runs deep with support and inspiration."

Both players, who are juniors, were on their way to ECU from their off-campus residence when the accident took place.

A defensive end, Stanley started 12 of 13 games as a sophomore for the Pirates during the 2013 season. He ranked second on the unit with seven sacks and earned All-Conference USA (honorable mention) honors.

Harris also started 12 of 13 contests at the left offensive tackle position.

East Carolina went 10-3 last season and set a school single-season records in most points scored, highest scoring average, most total yards and most passing yards.
