One Less Reason To Watch the Super Bowl

I would have enjoyed this more sitting at home watching football, than sitting at my desk at work on a Tuesday.

Not sure why I'm so surprised, this happened last year didn't it?  Super Bowl commercials getting released on the internet prior to game day, is a bad idea.  It's the middle of the week, and I already am watching multiple 2012 big game commercials.

In between projects, when I have a minute there is no way I can resist watching them on my office PC.  Say what you want, but even if you bicker at that you're still likely in the same boat.  It's just how things are in 2012.  Through the web anything and everything from a media/viral video standpoint is at your finger tips, and there aren't too many people that don't give it a click.  Hundreds of thousands of fews in a matter of hours this morning proves my point.

But wait a minute...maybe I'm not getting spoiled...completely.

I'm seeing "teases" to SB commercials..."previews"...and sneakpeeks, with taglines in the footer like "it will all make sense February 5th."  Will it?  Does previewing these commercials really make them more enjoyable on Sunday?  Are you really getting that excited to watch an ad anyway?

Once you give us a glimpse doesn't it lose a little of that luster.  It's the same reason we all weren't that stoked about the second Hangover movie.  We'd seen the framework of that story before.

Sorry to dumb it down, but it's 9 a.m.  I work nights remember, my metaphors don't heat up until after 5, when you clock out and I clock in.

I'll leave you with a link to some of my favorite football themed ads.

And, in what will probably deem the rest of this blog entirely meaningless, I first saw these on the web.
