The reports of the demise of the Big 12 have been greatly exaggerated.

OU and OSU both announced they will stay in the Big 12 on Monday.

The Sooners and Cowboys both made their announcement within two hours of Texas announcing it will also stay in a 10-team Big 12.

It's a drastic turnaround from the weekend when the general consensus was that the Big 12 was over.  OU, OSU, Texas, and Texas Tech were all reportedly set to head west and join what would have become a 16-team Pac-10.

The impetus for the change of heart is reportedly a new plan by Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe that could mean more than double the amount of television money for each team in the conference.
