OSU is adding a new quarterback to the roster.
FOX23 Sports Director Nathan Thompson talked to Richard Lagow on the phone Wednesday night. Lagow told him he's transferring to OSU from Connecticut. He plans to start classes on Friday or Monday and hopes to start practicing with the team on Monday. Lagow says he will be a walk-on at first, and the coaching staff told him he will have to earn a scholarship.
Lagow signed with UConn last February and practiced with the Huskies in preseason camp but decided it wasn't the right place for him. Lagow asked for a scholarship release from UConn and says OSU showed interest.
The 6'6" Lagow played high school football at Plano and was a three-star recruit according to Rivals.
Lagow can practice this year but can't play in any games because of NCAA transfer rules. He will still have four years of eligibility after redshirting this season.
