NORMAN, Okla. — The University of Notre Dame confirmed Wednesday the kickoff for Oklahoma’s game in South Bend is set for 2:30 pm on September 28.
The Sooners and the Fighting Irish met in Norman on Oct. 27, 2012 before a crowd of 86,031, the highest attendance for a sporting event ever held in the state of Oklahoma. Notre Dame won the game 30-13.
The most recent meeting between these two storied college football powers in South Bend came on October 2, 1999 when Notre Dame rallied for a 34-30 victory.
Oklahoma’s lone victory over Notre Dame was a 40-0 shutout on Oct. 27, 1956, as the Sooners registered their second consecutive national championship under head coach Bud Wilkinson.
