TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Bill Blankenship has high expectations for Tulsa after last season's Conference USA championship.

The Golden Hurricane coach led his alma matter to an 11-3 record last season, capping the year with a Liberty Bowl win over Iowa State. It was just the second time in school history that Tulsa has won 11 games in a season, and it came after Blankenship had finished 8-5 in his first season.

This season, Tulsa returns eight starters on an offense that averaged 457.1 yards per game a year ago. That includes standout quarterback Cody Green and the running back duo of Trey Watts and Ja'Terian Douglas, who combined for 2,044 yards rushing last season.

The Golden Hurricane opens its season at Bowling Green on Aug. 29.
