OSU's Jeffrey Carroll being withheld from play

OSU is withholding senior guard Jeffrey Carroll from playing pending the ongoing review of the men's basketball program. He will continue to practice with the team.

The university started a review of the program after an FBI investigation led to the arrest of OSU associate head coach Lamont Evans in September. Evans is facing a possible 80-year maximum prison sentence for bribery, conspiracy, and fraud charges. OSU has since fired Evans.

Carroll is the Big 12's highest returning scorer and is one of three unanimous picks for the preseason All-Big 12 team.

On Thursday, OSU announced the indefinite suspensions of Davon Dillard and Zack Dawson for "failure to meet team standards." An OSU official told FOX23 these suspensions were not related to the FBI investigation. Dillard and Dawson are still practicing with the team and should be reinstated to play at some point this season.

OSU tips off its regular season Friday at 7:30 pm at home against Pepperdine.
