New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Rangers have assigned goaltender Martin Biron and forward Arron Asham to their American Hockey League affiliate in Hartford.

The two were placed on waivers Monday and went unclaimed, allowing the Rangers to send the veterans to the minors.

Biron has appeared in two games during the Rangers' ugly 1-4-0 start and has a record of 0-1-0 with a 7.61 goals-against average and .763 save percentage. He had an infamous relief stint for starter Henrik Lundqvist in a 9-2 loss at San Jose, where he was victimized by Sharks rookie Tomas Hertl's behind-the-back and between-the-legs breakaway goal late in the contest.

Asham has racked up 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-3 over three games without a point this season.

The Rangers recalled forward J.T. Miller and goaltender Cam Talbot from Hartford on Tuesday.

Miller, a first-round pick in the 2011 draft, has two goals and two assists in 27 games with the Rangers over the last two seasons. He had four goals in three games at Hartford this year.

Talbot is 2-0-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .918 save percentage in three games for the Wolf Pack.
